St. Augustine is settled in Florida.

Founded by a group from Spain led by Pedro Menéndez , it is the first permanent European settlement in North America. Menéndez also leads a raid that kills most of the Huguenot settlers at nearby Fort Caroline and some 300 French shipwreck survivors at nearby Fort Matanzas.
